Susan Legacki brings more than two decades of journalism, marketing, and publishing experience to the WAB Team. She has her bachelor’s in communications from New York University and a Master’s Degree in Print Journalism from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School of Journalism. She is the founding editor of the award-winning endurance sports magazine, LAVA, and her work has appeared in The Huffington Post, Mother Jones, Triathlete, and Outside, among others. Susan served as the Editorial Director of a large fitness tech company and Editorial Manager of a Silicon Valley SaaS start-up, which gave her valuable skills in bringing stories to life and working collaboratively across large departments to successfully launch a variety of marketing projects from podcasts and websites to e-books and fitness products. She lives in Carlsbad with her husband and two children, and, if she’s not working to help other people get their books across the finish line, you can usually find her training for an upcoming endurance race or watching her kids compete from the sidelines.

Everyone told us “Smoochie” was the kind of person who can make you sing from the stuff she designs. She combines the mind of a musician with the skills of an administrator, and takes any idea we bring to her and makes it look extraordinary. Her degree from Mortimer Snerd Elementary School gets put to the test each and every day, and yes…those lips are real.
